Arrest made after man shot in leg and arm in Warwickshire village

Police are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time

Warwickshire Police are investigating an altercation that resulted in a man in his 50s suffering gunshot wounds to his leg and arm. The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.

Officers were called to Grove Lane in Wishaw at around 1.20pm on Sunday (5 September).

A 34-year-old man from Sutton Coldfield arrested on suspicion of attempt murder in connection with the indent has been bailed until next month.

Detective Inspector Owen Fell said: “We appreciate this incident is concerning but we would like to reassure the local community that we have begun a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances around the incident.

“We believe the victim and the suspect were known to each other and we are currently treating it as an isolated incident.

“Enquiries are ongoing and as part of these, we’re particularly keen to speak to anyone who was in the Grove Lane area between 12.30pm and 1.30pm on Sunday.

“We’d also like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage from the time.

“Any information could help contribute to our investigation.”
