Police in Warwickshire are appealing for information and witnesses after a man was seriously assaulted in Kingsbury.

Officers first received reports of an altercation on Tamworth Road, close to the Malt House pub just before 7pm on Friday (April 5th).

When responders arrived on the scene, they found a man who had been seriously assaulted, lying on the ground and requiring medical attention.

Emergency services were called to the scene to treat the man, who was in his 30s, for serious head injuries - and was later taken to hospital.

The force has now opened an investigation into the incident, and has urged anyone who might have witnessed the attack to come forward.

Following initial leads, the force said they believed that both the victim and the suspect were at the Malt House before the attack took place.

As a result, police looking into the case are appealing to anyone who was in the pub at around 6:30p.m. on Friday and saw anything unusual or suspicious to reach out.

Additionally, anyone who might have any information on the incident or the area in the run-up to the attack is being urged to contact officers as soon as possible as investigators try to piece the events leading up to the attack together.

Those who may have any information that may help the investigation can get in touch with the force by calling 101 and quoting incident reference number 280 on April 5th.
