Man arrested following assault on Warwickshire police officer

A man has been held on suspicion of assaulting a police officer in Warwickshire.

The alleged assault happened in Warton this morning when the officer had gone to a property to arrest a man.

The suspect was also arrested on suspicion of harassment and criminal damage.

A Warwickshire Police spokesperson: "An officer was allegedly assaulted in the early hours of this morning after he went to a property in Warton to arrest a man in connection with incidents of harassment and criminal damage.

"Fortunately the officer wasn’t hurt. A 35-year-old man from Warton was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker, harassment and criminal damage. He remains in custody."
