Appeal launched after man left in critical condition after hit and run

A 29-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after being struck by a car which didn’t stop in Smethwick.

The man was hit by a vehicle on Queens Road near to the junction with Wall Close, shortly before 1am this morning.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

Sergeant Richard Moors, from the Motorway Policing Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said:

“We are in the early stages of our investigation and we would appeal for people with information to come forward.

"We would urge people who may have seen the collision to get in touch. We would also like to speak to witnesses or anyone who may have any dash cam footage to help us understand exactly what has happened."
