According to Cadbury, the Freddo bar is a 'delicious treat size frog made from classic, creamy Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate. A little family favourite for generations'.
Freddo bars were actually originally created by an Australian confectionery company called MacRobertson's. Designed and created by an 18-year-old employee called Harry Melbourne in 1930, the sweet treat was later sold to Cadbury in 1967.
Although it was initially only sold in Australia, it didn't take long for Cadbury to produce the Freddo bar on global scale, even adding adaptations and flavours of the product.
Following its UK relaunch in the 1990s, Freddo bars were priced at 10p and remained that until 2005, before a rough increase of around 2p per year. In recent years, Freddo bars average around 25p.
