Ryde Pier has reopened to vehicles after a boat collided with the 200-year-old structure on the Isle of Wight.

The bow of a yacht got stuck under the main promenade on Saturday evening, with the mast stopping it going any further under.

Ryde Inshore Rescue said a man and his dog were rescued from the vessel.

There were concerns about possible structural damage to the pier, but ferry company Wightlink said teams safely removed the boat on Sunday morning.
