A woman has died after a crash involving a pedestrian and bus in Nottingham City Centre.

Emergency services were called to Lower Parliament Street at 6.05 am this morning (22/10) to reports of a collision.

The pedestrian, a woman in her 30s, died a short while later after receiving treatment at the scene.

The road has been shut between Milton Street and Glasshouse Street for investigation work to take place.

Police say the road will be shut for some time.

Chief Inspector Dean Gallacher, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a tragic incident and we are currently working to understand exactly what happened.

“The road will remain closed for some time as investigation work is carried out and we advise drivers to avoid the area until further notice.”
