Three arrested over death of man in Dorset

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murdering a man who has died after being found with serious head injuries in Dorset last month

The victim, who was in his 60s, was discovered at an address on Milford Road in Dorchester after police were called there on the morning of March 18 following reports of an assault.

He was taken to hospital for treatment, but died on Saturday morning.

An 18-year-old and a 20-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of murder and conspiring to pervert the course of justice.

A 44-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of conspiring to pervert the course of justice and assisting an offender.

The victim and suspects were known to each other, Dorset Police said.

His family have been told of his death and a file has been passed to the coroner.

Detective Chief Inspector Simon Huxter, of Dorset Police, said: "As a result of inquiries, we are treating the man's death as suspicious and we arrested three people in connection with the incident.

"Specially trained family liaison officers are supporting the man's family and our thoughts are with them all at this difficult time.

"A cordon is in place and members of the public can expect to see an increased police presence in the area over the coming days while we progress our inquiries.

"Officers from the neighbourhood policing team can be approached with any specific concerns."
