The sunrise at the start of the longest day has been welcomed by an estimated 15-thousand people at Stonehenge this morning (Friday 21st June).

The celebrations have been ongoing through the night, with some also marking last night's sunset.

It's an important time in the calendar for Pagans and druids, marking the change of seasons and 'rebirth' for the next part of the year.

English Heritage has been live-streaming the event for those who haven't been able to make it on person.

The clear skies made for a perfect way to welcome the sunrise, with cheers and applause from those attending to see in the new day.

English Heritage have described the event as a success, as have Wiltshire Police.
