A court has heard that Sara Sharif was beaten with objects and suffered bite marks.

The prosecution has also said that the 10-year-old had "signs of traumatic brain injury" and a number of fractures to her spine.

The prosecution also said the injuries included burns to her buttocks, caused by an iron.

Sara's father Urfan Sharif, stepmother Beinash Batool and uncle Faisal Malik are all accused of her murder, which they deny.

The jury also heard that whilst dental impressions to compare to the bite marks had been provided by Sharif and Malik which ruled them out, Batool had refused to provide impressions.

Earlier today, the court heard that the father of Sara Sharif said "I killed my daughter" and "“I legally punished her and she died” in a call to police from Pakistan.

Prosecuting, Mr Emlyn Jones KC described the treatment of Sara Sharif for the last few weeks of her life as "appalling and brutal".

The prosecutor told the jury that all three defendants "played their part" in the violence and it was "inconceivable" that just one of them had acted alone

10-year-old Sara Sharif was found dead at her home in Woking on the 10 August 2023.

Sharif, Batool and Malik are also accused of causing or allowing the death of the child.

They deny all charges.

The trial continues.
