A man has died on a Jet 2 flight from Bulgaria to Liverpool.

The plane was forced to land in Cologne on Monday 16 September because of a medial emergency.

In an update, the airline confirmed that the passenger died, adding: "We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the customer’s family and friends at this very difficult time."

Reports suggest the man went into cardiac arrest while in the air, and passengers and crew tried to help.
