Murder investigation launched after the death of a woman in Hartlepool
Laura Metcalfe, 44, was found with fatal injuries in Brougham Terrace
A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a woman in Hartlepool.
Laura Metcalfe, 44, died from the injuries she suffered during an incident in Brougham Terrace on Friday 7th April.
Cleveland Police say her family is being supported by specialist officers and they are appealing for information.
Superintendent Martin Hopps, District Commander for Hartlepool, said:
“Cleveland Police would like to reassure the public that this is an isolated incident and there are no wider tensions within the community.
"Police will remain in the area conducting reassurance patrols and anyone with information is encouraged to speak with officers or contact the Major Enquiry Team by calling 101.”
