Coins celebrating Queen's platinum jubilee revealed by Royal Mint
The coins will commemorate Queen Elizabeth's 70-year reign

The Royal Mint has revealed a series of new coins to be forged in 2022, including two set to celebrate the Queen's platinum jubilee.
A 50p coin celebrating Queen Elizabeth's seventieth year on the throne has been especially commissioned for the occasion. This is the first time a 50p coin has been used for this purpose.
The coin depicts the number 70, alongside the Queen's coat of arms and the years in which she has reigned from 1952 until today.
Similarly, a £5 coin in commemoration of the jubilee will also be released, following the tradition of celebrating jubilees on crown pieces.
In a similar style, the crown will feature a majestic design centred by the shield of the Royal Arms.
Other coins that are due to be minted in 2022 include a 50p coin marking the Commonwealth Games 2022, set to be held in Birmingham.
In addition to this, the mint has announced £2 coins to be made to celebrate the lives of Dame Vera Lynn and Alexander Graham Bell.
Speaking about the announcement, Clare Maclennan from the Royal Mint said: "As the original maker of UK coins, the Royal Mint has been trusted to strike coins for Her Majesty throughout an historic 70 years on the throne and celebrated royal milestones such as previous jubilees on commemorative crown pieces.
"The Platinum Jubilee celebration is a spectacular first for the British monarchy and for UK coins, and it is fitting that this historic anniversary has been celebrated on 50 pence - which is Britain's most loved, collectable coin."
