Jackie Weaver may have become a household name over the past week, but the real question is: does she have any authority?

Since the chaotic video of Handforth Parish Council Zoom meeting dropped last week, the internet has exploded with memes, spoofs and even a quiz to determine which council member you are!

The footage shows the meeting getting heated, with councillors insulting and removing each other from the call.

Much of the anger seems directed at meeting clerk Jackie Weaver, who trended on Twitter throughout Thursday evening after the video was released.

She was told by other participants that the meeting had been called "illegally", with vice chair Aled Brewerton shouting at Ms Weaver to "read the standing orders".

With the video being viewed over 5.5 million times, now Amazon's Alexa has got in on the act and can answer your questions!

Who is Jackie Weaver?

The viral video see's Ms Weaver kick the chairman of Handforth Parish Council off the call, after he told her she had "no authority here Jackie Weaver, no authority at all."

Asking Alexa about Jackie Weaver

Alexa seems to think differently, however, responding to the question: "Does Jackie Weaver have any authority here?", with “As long as there is reasonable behaviour, she has authority here.”

People have also been asking the device, "Who is Jackie Weaver?" to which Alexa responds "Do you mean Britney Spears?", in a nod to confusion about names and titles during the virtual meeting.

In response to chair Brian Tolver naming himself "clerk" on the Zoom call, Ms Weaver said: "The chairman simply declared himself 'clerk' and notified everybody of the case.

"There is no way of stopping him from calling himself clerk. Please refer to me as Britney Spears from now on."

A new national treasure?

Jackie Weaver became an overnight celebrity thanks to the video, with some Twitter users joking she is the new national treasure.
