I Am Maximus ran out an impressive winner of the Randox Grand National at Aintree.

Trained by Willie Mullins and ridden by Paul Townend, I Am Maximus finished strongly to claim success as the 7-1 favourite.

Coming in second was Delta Work with Minella Indo, followed by Rachael Blackmore in third and Galvin fourth.

Last year's winner Corach Rambler unseated his rider Derek Fox at the very first fence.

This year's race saw some changes, with the field shortened from 40 to 32 runners in a bid to improve safety.
