Hollywood a-lister Tom Hanks was in the stands to watch Aston Villa draw three-all with Liverpool and close in on the Premier League's top four.

In a video before the match, he said he was excited to watch the "penultimate match" of the season.

Villa had trailed 3-1 until a late double by substitute Jhon Duran in the last five minutes levelled the game in a thrilling finale at Villa Park.

The 20-year-old entered the fray with 11 minutes left to play, turning the game on its head with a quickfire double.

In a statement on the Aston Villa website, manager Unai Emery said: "“We played matching Liverpool. Congratulations to them because they played very honestly and competed very well.

“We competed very well even though we played more chaotic than usual when we needed to exploit our emotions with our supporters and try to push with everything.

“I’m very proud of our supporters and how we are here, how everybody is feeling and how we are transmitting our energy and passion with our supporters.”
