Firefighters have faced a sticky situation near Bridport, after a large quantity of golden syrup was spilled onto a road.

The light treacle covered White Way in Litton Cheney just before 2.00pm yesterday afternoon (Thursday 8th February).

The golden syrup washed down the hill at White Way, but it's not clear how it came to be on the road in the first place

Crews from Bridport and Dorchester helped to contain the spill.

They, along with police and Dorset Council staff then worked to clear as much of it from the road as possible.

The wet weather may have helped to wash the syrup away a little quicker.

It's not known how the syrup ended up there.
