Four boys arrested on suspicion of rape in Greater Manchester

An investigation has started into reports of an attack in Rochdale last night

Four boys have been arrested by Greater Manchester Police on suspicion of rape.

A spokesperson has confirmed those taken into custody are aged 12, 13 and 14.

Officers are investigating an attack near a Metrolink station in the Newbold area of Rochdale at around 6pm last night

They say the victim is being supported by specialist officers.

At around 6pm on Saturday 10 February 2024, officers were called to reports of a rape in Newbold, Rochdale.

Four boys aged 12, 13, 14, 14 have been arrested on suspicion of rape and remain in police custody.

The victim is currently being supported by specialist officers.

A scene remains in place as officers continue their investigation.
