Firefighters have spent most of the day dealing with a major fire near Ipswich.

Crews from across Suffolk were sent to Sackers Recycling Centre in Great Blakenham in the early hours of this morning.

They've been urging people living nearby to keep windows and doors closed.

Work's also been taking place with specialists at Network Rail, as the site is right next to a rail line used by freight and passenger trains.

Commander Ian Mallet's given this update at the scene.

These pictures showing the challenges faced by firefighters and other teams have also been released.

An investigation's now underway to establish the cause of the fire.

There are no reports of any injuries.
