West Yorkshire Police have appealed for information and witnesses following a serious vehicle collision on Friday night (May 17th).

The incident took place on the Burnley Road between Mytholmroyd and Luddedenfoot shortly after 11pm, according to the force.

A Honda Civic car and a Volvo double decker bus were involved in the incident, and the driver of the car - a man aged in his 20s - suffered life-threatening injuries.

The car had been travelling towards Todmorden when it collided with the bus, as it was going in the opposite direction.

Some 16 passengers were on the bus when the incident took place. After being checked over by emergency services, the passengers did not suffer any serious injuries.

The driver of the bus did sustain an injury to their head, but it is not believed to be life-threatening.

Anyone who may have any information on the crash - as well as anyone who might have been able to see the incident take place itself - is being urged to get in touch with the force as soon as possible.
