Dougie Imrie was the hero for 10-man Hamilton when he struck late on to rescue a 1-1 draw against Dundee in the Premiership. The visitors took the lead through Kevin Holt early in the second half and then had a numerical advantage too when Darian MacKinnon saw red. But Accies showed their character to hit back as Imrie's goal with four minutes to go salvaged a draw. The home side started well and were threatening the Dundee goal after just three minutes. Ali Crawford whipped a free-kick into the packed goalmouth where Gramoz Kurtaj was waiting to force Scott Bain into a point-blank save from close range. The Dundee goalkeeper was called into action again moments later to block a well-struck effort from Imrie but the offside flag was already raised. The visitors had a decent chance of their own when Nick Ross teed up Rhys Healey but he was unable to keep his header down and on target. There was a blow for Accies when the influential Crawford appeared to pull up with a strain and had to be replaced by Louis Longridge after just 25 minutes. Kurtaj looked to be the biggest threat for the home side in front of goal. And he should have done much better when presented with an Imrie pass 10 yards out, only to hook well over. Hamilton just about edged a drab first half but they found themselves trailing just two minutes after the restart. Holt tried his luck with an opportune strike from 30 yards that probably should not have troubled Michael McGovern - but the effort took a deflection en-route to goal which left the Accies goalkeeper helpless. Visiting fans screamed for a penalty a few minutes later when Healey went to ground under pressure from Lucas Tagliapietra but there was no spot-kick award from referee Willie Collum. Accies' chances of hauling themselves back into the game suffered a setback when they were reduced to 10 men on the hour. MacKinnon clashed with Thomas Konrad after a foul by the Dundee defender and was shown a straight red card for his reaction. The home side came close to levelling when Carlton Morris unleashed a fierce shot that drew a great save from Bain. The forward then had the ball in the back of the net but his close-range header was disallowed for offside. Dundee were dealt an injury blow of their own when defender Julen Etxabeguren left the pitch on a stretcher with 15 minutes to go. Hamilton then had the ball in the net again but the referee had already blown for a foul by the time Tagliapietra nodded Kurtaj's free-kick in off the post. However there was nothing wrong with Imrie's strike when he restored parity in the closing stages - Ziggy Gordon supplied the cross from the right and the midfielder lashed home to secure a point.
