Hearts moved to the top of the Premiership table as they came from behind to defeat Dundee in an eagerly-contested match at Dens Park. Robbie Neilson's side were trailing to Kane Hemmings' early opener for the Dark Blues but rallied after the break to run out winners thanks to Juanma's clinical double. The Spanish striker equalised from the penalty spot in the 56th minute before a solo effort seven minutes later helped the resurgent Tynecastle club seal back-to-back wins since being promoted from the Championship. Dundee made two changes from the side which won 4-0 away to Kilmarnock the previous week as James McPake returned from suspension to replace Thomas Konrad, while Paul McGowan came in for the injured Rory Loy. It did not take Dundee long to assert themselves with Hemmings having their first attempt at goal when he raced into the visiting penalty area, turning Juwon Oshaniwa inside out, only to see Neil Alexander, the visiting keeper, save his shot at the expense of a corner. But it was no surprise when they surged into the lead as Hemmings notched his first goal for the club following his summer move from Barnsley. McGowan's short corner allowed Greg Stewart to become the provider as he dinked a ball into the six-yard box, where Hemmings was waiting to force a header into the corner of the net, despite a desperate attempt by Alexander to keep it out. At the other end, Hearts had a chance when Jamie Walker worked a neat one-two with Osman Sow inside the Dundee penalty box. Dundee goalkeeper Scott Bain made an instinctive save from Walker, who then contrived to head the rebound over the bar. The hosts almost doubled their lead in the 14th minute when Hemmings crossed for McGowan, whose close-range shot looked netbound - but somehow Alexander defied him with a point-blank save. The hosts were almost celebrating a second goal in 18 minutes as Gary Harkins latched onto Stewart's set-up - but with the goal gaping he could only hit the side-netting. Juanma missed a good chance to equalise in the 36th minute when his free header from Igor Rossi's cross went wide with only Bain to beat. Then, on the stroke of half-time, Harkins' flighted cross was met by Stewart at the far post - but Alexander saved low down at his near post. The second half started with Walker's cross flashing across the face of the goal, but there were no takers as another chance went begging. However, 11 minutes into the second half Juanma made it 1-1 with a spot-kick after James McPake was penalised for handball. Up stepped the Spanish striker, who retained his composure, to send Bain the wrong way from the spot. And soon after Juanma put Hearts ahead with a brilliant solo run which ended with an unstoppable shot into Bain's far corner. Dundee were beginning to lose their way and soon after captain Kevin Thomson was booked for a late lunge on Sam Nicholson.
