Young Scot Paralysed During Rugby Match Could Walk Again

An ex-student of Merchiston Castle School who was paralysed after a rugby accident may walk again.

20 year-old Connor Hughes damaged his spinal cord 13 months ago after playing in a pre-season friendly for Stirling University.

Since then, Connor has travelled to America for rehabilitation work in California and tens of thousands of pounds have been raised to support his journey.

He's just returned from Thailand where he's had stem cell injections and a stimulator inserted at the base of his spine.

It's hoped that with a lot of hard work and rehab the 20 year-old could one day use his legs again.

Connor's hoping to take another trip back East for further stem cell treatment.
