"Much loved mum" who died following Broxburn disturbance named as man appears in court

A woman who died following a disturbance in Broxburn has been named as Chitsidzo (Veronica) Chinyanga from Zimbabwe.

Police were called to a property in the Cunnighar Road area around 7.55pm on Sunday.

The 42-year-old was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where she later died.

A man, 46, has been arrested and charged in connection with her death

He is due to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

Her family has released a statement through Police Scotland and said: "Veronica was a much loved mum, sister, niece and mother to all, who will be missed dearly by many.

"We would ask that we are given privacy to come to terms with our loss at this time."
