Woman sexually assaulted in Edinburgh Old Town

A woman has been sexually assaulted in Edinburgh's Old Town.

It is reported to have happened near Old Infirmary Lane, around 11:30pm on Wednesday October 16.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police in Edinburgh are investigating a report that a 26-year-old woman was a victim of a sexual assault near Old Infirmary Lane at 11:30pm on Wednesday 16th October.

"Inquiries are at an early stage and are ongoing."
