Woman seriously injured in Edinburgh accident

A woman has been seriously injured after being knocked down on Old Dalkeith Road this morning.

The collision between the female pedestrian and a car happened at around 7am this morning near King's Gate.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and the woman was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. She remains there in a serious condition.

Anyone with information has been asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0405 of December 12.
