A woman's been brought to safety after being stuck on Arthur's Seat in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Fire and rescue crews were called to the scene just after 1AM - they dispatched expert teams to help the woman back down.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "A specialist line rescue team from Tollcross, along with appliances from Marionville and McDonald Road were mobilised.

"A female casualty was brought down to safety using a stretcher and handed over to the ambulance service."

The operation took around two hours - it's not yet clear the extent of the woman's injures.
