A woman has been taken to hospital for treatment to spinal injuries after an accident while fishing.

A woman has been taken to hospital for treatment to spinal injuries after an accident while fishing.

The 35-year-old was fishing in the River Carron at Carron, Falkirk, when she fell down the banking.

She sustained spinal injuries and a suspected broken leg.

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said the woman did not land in the river but was unable to move and had to be rescued.

She said: “She was put on a spinal board and transferred to an ambulance and is being treated at Forth Valley Hospital.”

The incident happened at 6.45pm on Saturday.
