Woman dies after early-morning crash involving truck in Livingston

A woman has died after an early-morning crash involving a truck in Livingston.

The incident happened on the town's Alderstone Road at around 2.20am on Sunday, August 7.

Emergency services attended and a 28-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 47-year-old man has been arrested in connection and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

Sergeant Barry Sommerville said: “Our thoughts are with the woman’s family and friends at this difficult time.

“We are appealing for any witnesses and anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to get in touch with officers as part of our enquiries.

“Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting incident number 0512 of 7 August.”
