Women who died in Stirling 'disturbance' named

Michele Rutherford died in an incident where two other women were injured

Police have named a woman who died during a "disturbance" in Stirling.

Officers were called to Craighall Street on Tuesday (March 7) shortly after 11am.

A woman died at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital shortly after the incident, while two other women, aged 29 and 58 were injured.

A 32-year-old woman was charged in connection with the death and serious assault, she's expected to appear at Stirling Sheriff Court today (Thursday March 9).

Now Police have named the 54-year-old victim as Michele Rutherford, from Stirling.

Her family have asked that their privacy is respected at this time.

Detective Inspector Scott Roxburgh said: “Our thoughts very much remain with Michele’s loved ones at this time, along with everyone else involved in this incident.”
