Woman Detained After Death of 5 Year Old Boy
Police were called to the house in Alva this morning and found the child with a 'significant injury'
A woman is being held by police investigating the death of a five-year-old boy. Police found the child at a house in Alva, Clackmannanshire, on Friday, after a call about his welfare. The boy had a significant injury'' to his body and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Scottish Ambulance Service. The woman, 32, believed to be his mother, was held in connection with the incident, and a report was being prepared for the procurator fiscal last night. Police said they were not linking the incident to the discovery of a woman's body just hours earlier in nearby Falkirk. Chief Superintendent Davie Flynn, local police commander for the Forth Valley, said: '''I would like to stress that in both cases individuals have been detained by police and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with them.
