A woman has been left "shaken and upset" after being attacked as she approached her car in Bo'Ness.

Police say the assault took place around five minutes past seven this morning (Monday November 7).

The incident happened in the Grahamsdyke Terrace area of the town.

The 57-year-old woman was assaulted by a man described as around five foot seven and of average build as she went to her car - when she shouted he then ran towards a wooded area that leads to the Kinglass Estate.

The attacker was wearing dark clothing with a hood up over his head and a dark face covering, similar to a snood.

Detective Sergeant Chris Scott, of Falkirk CID, said: “Fortunately the woman was not injured but she has been left shaken and upset by what happened.

“We are appealing for anyone in the area, such as dog walkers, who saw what happened or saw this man before or after the incident to get in touch.

“In addition, anyone driving in the area with dash-cam footage or anyone with private CCTV footage that could assist with our enquiries is also asked to make contact with us.”
