Person rushed to hospital after West Lothian Prison fire

A person has been rushed to hospital after a blaze broke out at a West Lothian Prison.

Emergency services were called to HMP Addiewell just after half past three this afternoon.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told us: “We were made aware of a fire within HMP Addiewell shortly after 3.35pm on Wednesday, 3 May.

“Emergency services attended and one person has been taken to hospital by the ambulance service.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”

We have approached the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service for comment.
