Edinburgh tram services will be disrupted later this month as essential engineering work takes place at Shandwick Place.

A section of the network between Picardy Place and Haymarket will be closed for 72 hours to allow the replacement of track points.

Normal service will run on Friday 26 September, but from the start of service on Saturday 27 September trams will not stop at St Andrew Square, Princes Street or West End.

The affected stops are due to reopen on Tuesday 30 September.

Services will continue to operate on either side of the closure - between Edinburgh Airport and Haymarket, and between Newhaven and Picardy Place.

Operators have apologised for the inconvenience and say the work is part of a planned programme of renewals.
