Borderers are bracing themselves for more thunderstorms as the heatwave continues this weekend.

Weather warnings have been issued for some areas of Scotland - with the Met Office warning some damage to homes is possible.

It follows some of the worst storms in living memory in Galashiels which some people described as being "like the end of the world".

We were first to reveal a mortified mum thought she was going to die after being struck by lightning at her home in Galashiels.

Tracey Kutluol was filming the storm from a window in the town's Roxburgh Street when her phone was zapped around 10pm last night (Thursday).

She believes a new rubber phone cover, bought just hours earlier, diverted the danger and saved her life.

A power surge also left many people in Galashiels without phones and televisions.

Giant hailstones have been reported in the latest storms making their way north from Norfolk on Friday.
