Staff at a north Edinburgh youth centre have been left devastated after two men broke into the centre and caused £2,000 worth of damage.

They were dressed in black clothing and balaclavas when they burst in to the Fet Lor youth club on Crewe Road South at around 11pm on Tuesday.

Interior and exterior doors were left damaged and equipment like a go-pro camera was stolen from inside.

Police are now investigating the attack and inquiries are ongoing to identify those responsible.

Youth worker Amy Henderson said: “I went in and there was stuff all over the floor. Two of the doors were really badly damaged - one had been kicked in and one had been wedged open with a tool.

"You feel hurt, you feel angry - its just not a nice feeling, especially when it is a safe space for young people.”
