Just 51% of people say they're happy with the upkeep of Edinburgh's roads, according to the city council's annual People's Survey.

The study examines how satisfied residents are with living in the capital.

5,170 people took part, through a series of face-to-face interviews.

96% of people said they were happy living in the city - that's the highest figure since the survey launched nine years ago.

But when it comes to the roads people are less happy.

53% of locals said they were unhappy with the standard of pavements.

Dog fouling emerged as another key gripe with just 46% saying they were satisfied with the council's measures to tackle the problem.
