A budding game designer from Edinburgh is being invited to speak at a high-profile conference in San Francisco after his video went viral online.

Matt Stark's game arms players with a polaroid camera and any photo they take comes to life as part of the virtual world.

A video shared by the 26-year-old from Bruntsfield on Twitter demonstrating the concept has sparked global interest, and has been viewed more than 4 million times.

Matt said he was completely overwhelmed: "It's been pretty crazy, and the response has been fantastic.

"The feedback has been really positive, and I've been followed on Twitter by some of my gaming heroes."

The second year Abertay University student has now been invited to speak at the high-profile Game Developer’s Conference (GDC) in San Francisco, one of the biggest annual events on the gaming calendar.
