WATCH: Cowdenbeath taxi depot goes up in flames

Firefighters are tackling a large blaze at a taxi depot in Cowdenbeath.

The fire broke out at Willie's Taxi Depot in Woodend Industrial Estate at around 8am today (Tuesday).

Explosions were heard from the site but no injuries have been reported.

Seven fire appliances and other emergency services were sent to the scene.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Group Manager David Sharp said: “We were alerted at 7.59am on Tuesday, August 6 to reports of a fire within a business premises at Woodend Industrial Estate, Cowdenbeath.

“Operations Control mobilised seven fire appliances to the scene, where our crews extinguished the fire which had taken hold within a single-storey vehicle workshop.

“There were no reported casualties.

“We would like to thank our crews and partners for their support in bringing this incident to a safe conclusion."
