WATCH: Cost of tram extension jumps to £207m

The Edinburgh tram line will be extending into the Newhaven area and is predicted to cost £207m.

Previous estimates suggested the cost would be closer to £165m. The local authority says the new budget includes "risk allocation" and financial support for businesses affected.

The existing line's final cost in 2007 was £776m, which was double the initial budget.

Councillors will make a final decision on the project on March 14th.

The extension is expected to be up and running in early 2023.
