WATCH: Avengers assemble in Edinburgh

Edinburgh's old town has been transformed into a movie set for the filming of the new Avengers film.

A leaked filming schedule suggests that scenes will be shot on Cockburn Street and the Royal Mile this week and into April.

Businesses on Cockburn Street also shared with Forth News that they have been told to expect filming every night this week and not to be alarmed if they hear or see "explosions" during those times.

Meanwhile in Waverley train station a whole section has been closed off and a film set has been installed. Props including a green screen and a fake coffee shop have been put in place. A security guard there told us that it will be closed off until May.

Locals are now waiting to see what big names appear in the capital but rumour has it that Scarlett Johansson and Robert Downey Jr are already staying in town.
