WATCH: 72-year-old Edinburgh College student with 78 qualifications nominated for special award

Ada Pagan started studying in 1977 and has never lost her passion for learning.

A 72-year-old Edinburgh student is nominated for a special award for receiving 78 qualifications in her lifetime.

Ada Pagan - who started studying in 1977 - has six A levels, 17 Highers, 11 O grades, 9 O levels, more than 20 credits in business subjects, four certificates in public speaking, four certificates in counselling and therapy, a HNC in Business Administration and a HNC in Languages and Tourism.

She is currently studing Advanced Criminology through open learning, and she uses the College's Sighthill campus as her study base.

Ada's now been nominated for the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) Star Awards for the Lifelong Learning category.

We went to the College's library, which she calls her second home, to meet her.
