The 2016 Royal Highland Show is getting underway today.

The four-day event, which takes place in Ingliston, draws in thousands of visitors every year to see the best of farming, food, and rural life.

The show also features around 5,000 cattle, sheep, goats and horses.

It also provides a £4.6m boost for the Scottish economy every single year.

One of the event's most popular parts is 'Scotland's Larder Live!', which showcases Scotland's best food and drink, from the likes of Grahams, and Edinburgh Gin.

There will also be a 'cooking theatre', where producers can show visitors how to make the best of their food and drink.

Scottish Secretary David Mundell will also visit the event, where he will be showcasing artisian gins.
