A 10-year-old boy from Edinburgh born without a right hand has received a bionic hand in time for Christmas.

Cameron Millar, from Gilmerton, has always struggled with everyday tasks and has dreamed of getting a prosthetic hand.

A fundraising campaign was set up with help from our charity Cash For Kids and members of the public donated ÂŁ10,000 to make his dream come true.

He was able to pick up and try on his custom-made hand, designed by robotics firm OpenBionics, earlier this week.

In just a few days he has learnt how to pick up small items such as balls and water bottles. He is now looking forward to being able to unwrap his gifts this Christmas.

Our reporter Hope Webb went to see him and his new hand.
