Two people taken to hospital after train collision at Aviemore

Two people were treated in hospital following a train collision involving the world famous Flying Scotsman in the Highlands.
Emergency services rushed out to the incident at Aviemore train station around 7pm this evening.
Police say a number of other passengers were treated at the scene.
A man and a woman were taken to hospital, but their injuries are not thought to be serious.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 7pm on Friday, 29 September, 2023, we received a report of two trains colliding at low speed at Aviemore Railway Station.
"As a precaution, two people – a man and a woman – were taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness by the Scottish Ambulance Service for treatment.
"Their injuries are not believed to be serious.
"A number of other passengers were assessed by the ambulance service at the scene and did not require hospital treatment.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
First Minister Humza Yousaf has thanked emergency services for their response to the incident and says his thoughts are with those affected.
Posting on social media, he said: "Can I thank our emergency services for their response.
"My thoughts with those affected, I wish them a speedy recovery."
Earlier this evening, ScotRail confirmed trains were not able to run through Aviemore due to the incident.
A spokesperson said: "Due to the emergency services responding to an incident on a private railway near the mainline, we're currently unable to run any trains through Aviemore station while they work."
However, a later post on social media confirmed trains were able to run through the Highland station again.
A ScotRail spokesperson added: "Services are now able to run normally through Aviemore again.
"The emergency services had been responding to an incident on a private railway line near to the mainline. "
The National Railway Museum have confirmed the "shunting" incident involved the Flying Scotsman.
A spokesperson said: "We can confirm that steam locomotive Flying Scotsman has been involved in a shunting incident at Aviemore Station.
"We will provide further information once more details are known.
