Two more teenage boys have been arrested and charged following a serious group assault in Kinghorn earlier this month.

The 14-year-olds are accused of being involved in an attack that left four young males, all aged 16 and under, with serious injuries.

The incident took place around 8.20pm on Thursday 10 April on Pettycur Road, where the victims were reportedly targeted by a much larger group.

All four were taken to Victoria Hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

The two teenagers have been released on an undertaking to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court at a later date.

Police say the investigation is ongoing, with further arrests expected.

Chief Inspector Scott Davidson said: “We are committed to identifying everyone involved in this serious incident and continue to follow positive lines of enquiry.”

“I urge anyone with information to get in touch. Increased patrols will remain in the area and we will not tolerate this kind of behaviour.”

He added that while most young people visiting the Fife coast do so respectfully, police will use “the full extent of the powers available” to tackle those who don’t.
