Police are searching for two men after a building was deliberately set ablaze in Edinburgh.

The incident happened at about 12.50am on Sunday in Gilmerton Dykes Crescent.

A fire was started in an outbuilding in the area and officers believe two men seen nearby may have facial burns.

Detective Constable Christina Yeoman, of Gayfield CID, said: "Thankfully the fire was quickly brought under control by the fire service.

"However, the consequences of this act could have been much worse and we are eager to trace those responsible.

"We believe that one of the men involved may have facial burns or other burns as a result of the fire.

"We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen, or know someone, with recent, unexplained burn injuries since the early hours of Sunday morning.''
