Two Men Seriously Hurt in Common Stair Stabbing in North Edinburgh

An attack on two men who traveled from Aberdeen to Edinburgh planning to buy a second hand vehicle is being treated as attempted murder by police. The victims were stabbed in the common stair of a block of flats in Wardieburn Place West at around 6pm on Wednesday evening. They are both serously injured and one of the men, aged 43, is said to be in a critical condition in hospital. Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Houston said, “This was an appalling attack on two men who came to the address in good faith. “This attack happened in daylight and we believe there may be a number of witnesses who may have seen the suspects in the area. “Anyone with information that can help with our enquiries is urged to contact police immediately.” The first suspect is described as a white man, aged 17-19 years old. He has a Central Scotland accent and light coloured short hair, which is shaved at the sides. He was wearing a light coloured sky blue hooded sweatshirt and grey jogging bottoms. The second suspect is a white man in his mid-twenties. He has a stocky build and was wearing a striped top.
