Tributes paid to Glasgow crash victims
Six people have died after an out-of-control bin lorry crashed in the heart of Glasgow.
The latest update following yesterday's tragic bin lorry crash in Glasgow city centre:
Glasgow City Council has confirmed that the driver of the bin lorry had two passengers on board when it veered out of control killing 6 people - confirmed as 1 male and 5 females.
8 people are in hospitals across the city after the truck veered out of control mounting the pavement in George Square yesterday afternoon.
The Glasgow City Council truck flattened street signs and eyewitnesses reported seeing the driver slumped at the wheel.
Police were very quick to rule out anything terror related.
Prayers will be said at a church service this morning at St George's Tron Church from 11:30.
Northumbria Police has confirmed its investigating an offensive tweet posted about the Glasgow lorry tragedy around 9 last night.
