Tributes paid to biker who died at East Lothian race circuit

Tributes have been paid to a 63-year-old man who died at an East Lothian race circuit over the weekend.

63-year-old Frankie Dignan was killed when he came off his bike while taking part in the Scottish Autocycle Union Championship race at East Fortunes Race Circuit on Saturday.

Police were called to the scene at 2:50pm but Mr Dignan was pronounced dead at after suffering serious injuries.

Road Policing officers are now carrying out enquiries to establish what led to the crash.

Melville Motor Club posted a tribute on Facebook which said Mr Dignan had raced at East Fortune since 1974 and will be "terribly missed". The club also passed on its "sincere condolences to his family and friends".
